It does not work with bank transactions. Would be great to have this option for imported transactions, because in supermarket can be lots of categories in one check.

Sorry, but am I just blind?
Trying out Wallet to see if it works better than some of the alternatives I am considering. Splitting transactions is a must. When I try to split any of the test transactions I created though, I do not see the "split-arrows icon" anywhere int he top right corner as the guide says.
What am I missing here?

For those asking, here is Wallet's current tutorial on how to split transactions: https://support.budgetbakers.com/hc/en-us/articles/212693309-How-do-I-EDIT-SPLIT-MERGE-a-Record-
As others have pointed out splitting a transaction into multiple categories is still not very user-friendly or practical (i.e. not possible to split the transaction while creating the record itself, but have to (1) create an overall transaction, (2) go back to dashboard, (3) open up the list of existing records, then (4) edit the record.
Needless to say it is so tedious when you have to do it over and over and over for all your transactions.
Wallet, will you please improve this feature?

This feature is not complete. There is not split feature in iOS version. Ever android version have split feature but it split it into different transaction.

It is not completed. Instead of let you keep one transaction, creates new transactions unrelated!! you can't keep the tracking between them!!

WalletApp.net Support states that "It has done and released", but they do not explain how...
The obvious and most straightforward way would be to be able to split the amount into different categories when adding a new record/transaction.
However, the way it is implemented forces the user for a duplicate action:1. Add a new record and assign it to one category
2. Edit the record just created and then split it to different categoriesThis is not really obvious or user friendly.

When?
Will not upgrade till you do.
Or look for one that does. -

Without this feature the app is quite unuseful.
In the same transaction it should be possible to split among categories and also transfer from one account to another (or use two or more different accounts for every split). -

It is also important that you in every "sub" transaction can choose expense or income. Or, even better, that you can enter amounts with an opposite sign than normal.
In the grocery store I may have these transactions in respective categories:
Groceries 30$
Pet food 10$
Candy/cookies 5$
Deposits -4$ (note minus!)
Total: 41$In my country (Sweden) we pay a deposit for almost all bottles and cans when buying beverages. We then get the deposit back when returning the bottles and cans. Then I need to enter this as an income in my deposit category together with the other expense transactions.
Or even better, to enter it as an expense but with the opposite sign. I would prefer to be able to enter the deposit as an expense in my deposit category when I buy the cans/bottles. When I return them I would like to enter the money I get back as an EXPENSE in my deposit category but with the OPPOSITE SIGN.

I second this feature. I used GoodBudget before and it's the single most important feature I'm missing in Wallet.

This is a blocking feature for me. I really like this app, but will not buy without ability to split!

Hi Wallet team! Splitted transactions feature was requested a long time ago. And it has been marked as planned for quite a long. So what are your plans for implementing it?

When you buy multiple items at one store a check, it is inconvenient to record multiple transactions. It is much more convenient to record a single purchase in Cator will be split into categories, as in anMoney in Play Market.

The lack of this feature is the one reason that I keep my eye open for other budget applications. If this was included I would have 0 complaints.

I would also appreciate this function because I'm using YNAB app and it's quite helpful to track expenses against my bank account.

This will be very helpful. This will allow me to track transactions against my credit card statements while dividing my items into their related categories!

That would be great! When we want to compare the list with our bank record, it is good to know each bank transactions corresponds to which data.
It is also important that in the export module it writes the splitted categories properly, such that we can use formulas on categories easily.

that would be great! being able to split big outcomes in smaller ones, modularizing it. and, please, let it split also in categories and debt, like half sport, half debt or something.

Came to suggest this. For example, at the supermarket I often get stuff from different categories, like Groceries and Medicine. I have to make 2 transactions to have the correct categories. Make it so that you can either split categories for a transaction (e.g. $30 "Supermarket " = $20 in Groceries + $10 in Medicine) or, better yet, have subtransactions, so you can give them different descriptions! Switching to paid version immediately if you implement this!!!
