    This could also be described as a sub transaction. I believe this should be displayed as a single payment on the dashboard but would allow the sub transactions to be manipulated in budgets, reports, forecasting etc.

    Split transactions.
    Often, eg, groceries include food, wine,dog food,papers etc.
    Also, buying diesel and getting milk etc
    Just makes budgets more accurate.
    Otherwise have to make multiple entries which do not tally with bank statement.
